Is your home care platform falling short? Explore the benefits of CareLineLive

Enkindle Consulting have recently called for contributions to their 2024 Home Care Provider Outlook Survey. Whilst we wait for the combined sentiments of the aged care sector in these uncertain times, we thought we’d look back at the year that was. The 2023 Report reflected the concern of the home care market as a whole, but the findings in relation to home care technology was particularly alarming.

Despite a recognition that digital transformation should be a focus (and the improved client experience, operational efficiency and business viability that comes with it), 60% of providers reported that their home care IT platform is not meeting their needs, and 8% are still labouring with paper-based.

There is no doubt that an effective home care management solution will reduce time spent scheduling staff, improve communication across carer/client/family circles, and optimise business procure (e.g. bulk invoicing and reporting). However, one of the main barriers identified to achieving these improvements was affordability and lack of financial resources to implement new or better technology.

One respondent in the 2023 Report was quoted as saying “The cost of a digital transformation is more than our entire contract amount. We are unable to compete with larger companies who are better situated”.

CareLineLive starts at just $200 per month. There are no additional charges for set-up, training and onboarding or for the carer app or Care Circle Portal. This makes it affordable for even the most cost-conscious organisations.

Whilst we support some very large clients, we also have many small-scale operations with fewer than 20 caregivers. We are well-equipped to provide a cost-effective software solution that aligns with limited budgets.

Respondents also reported that “lack of technology means that there is no system integration and often the same client data is entered 3 times within our internal systems” and, “currently we’re using an IT system that is not fit for purpose”. CareLineLive is built on a modern cloud-based technology stack with full integration. It is a truly all-in-one system without the need for duplicate data entry.

One provider in the Report spoke for many in a similar situation when they stated, “We urgently have to find a new system as a large software vendor is exiting home care”. CareLineLive has been designed to replace the features and functions of market leading Procura as well as top legacy systems like ComCare, TCM and HCM (from Telstra Health) but with a far superior user experience.

In the UK, where we are one of the market leaders in home care software provision, we see similar trends to that of Australia – inadequate funding, workforce shortages, major government and regulatory changes. CareLineLive has been developed to address many of these challenges. Users report that it increases carer capacity and hugely reduces admin time – and is continually updated to reflect the changes required of providers.

Finally, respondents were questioned about their current home care platforms, revealing that 5% acknowledged the absence of a system but expressed intentions to implement one. Another 10% indicated dissatisfaction with their existing system yet had no plans to replace it. Notably, 44% reported dissatisfaction and expressed intentions to replace their current system.

If you are one of those among the 44% who are unhappy with your current software vendor’s service or product, or the 5% currently looking for software, we invite you to connect with us. CareLineLive could be the ideal solution for your business, offering impressive enterprise-class functionality at a fraction of the cost.
