Fran from Care m U m won our Star Carer award as she is an exceptional, amazing, carer who is kind, compassionate and customer focussed. She goes the extra mile and customers are always full of praise for her efforts. Fran recently helped a lady who was in a very challenging situation and literally helped give the lady her life back allowing her to remain at home. To have such a huge impact on someone’s life is amazing.

What was your reaction to winning CareLineLive’s October Star Carer Award?
I was very shocked, and I was very happy
What aspects of being a carer do you enjoy?
I enjoy everything about caring, meeting people and doing my job. I like seeing the progress that my clients make, I really enjoy caring and looking after people. I have been caring for a year and what I find that you can easily get attached to your clients, especially when you are seeing them for long periods of time each day.
How does CareLineLive’s Carer Companion App help you in your job?
It’s very good, it gives me all the information that I need to do my job.
What’s your experience of being a carer during Covid-19?
We have had to wear the masks, aprons, and gloves to keep safe. I have asthma so find it hard to wear the masks but know I need to – luckily, I have had all my vaccines.
How do you switch off after a hard day at work?
I don’t have time off as I have a 6-year-old and take him to martial arts. I get up at 5am every day so I have long days. When I get time off I like to tidy my house from top to bottom!
